CBD flower with THCA: why our menu is THCA today, and what that means for you

In short. All CBD flower holds a little THCA. The flower on our menu holds a lot: it is high-THCA hemp flower, not CBD flower. When it is heated, its THCA becomes delta-9 THC, so smoked it gets you high and shows up on THC drug tests. Every product here says “hemp THCA flower” and shows its THCA % and total THC.

Checked Oct. 4, 2026.

Why a CBD name sells THCA flower

We bought this name for the shop we plan to be. Today, federal law counts only delta-9 THC when it decides what is hemp (7 U.S.C. 1639o). High-THCA flower passes that test before it is heated, which is why it is sold as hemp. From Dec. 11, 2026, the definition counts THCA too, at 0.3% total THC by dry weight (P.L. 119-37, sec. 781, with the date set by H.R. 6500). On that day high-THCA flower stops being hemp under federal law, and we plan to switch the menu to CBD and CBG flower.

Until then, we sell what we can source: greenhouse hemp THCA flower. We would rather say that on every page than let the name do the talking.

A little THCA, or a lot

“CBD flower with THC” and “high-THCA flower” are not two points on one scale. They are different plants. The lab report shows the gap.

Example lab values (dry weight) CBD flower Hemp THCA flower (our menu)
THCA 0.25% 22.0%
Delta-9 THC 0.05% 0.2%
Total THC (delta-9 + 0.877 × THCA) 0.27% 19.5%
Main acid the plant makes CBDA THCA
Counts as hemp after Dec. 11, 2026 Yes, at these values No

The figures are worked examples, not a lot we sell. Real values are on each product page.

What it means for you

  • It gets you high. Heat turns THCA into delta-9 THC. Smoking a high-THCA flower is like smoking any strong cannabis.
  • It shows up on drug tests. THC drug tests look for what your body makes from THC, not for the name on the bag. If you are tested for work, a licence or probation, do not use it.
  • It is for adults 21 and over. We sell to no one younger, and we confirm age on the phone and at delivery.
  • Your state decides. Several states restrict or ban smokable hemp or THCA flower already. Check the rules where you take delivery. Our site blocks no state, so the check is yours.
  • Dec. 11, 2026 matters. From that date federal law treats flower over 0.3% total THC as marijuana, whenever it was bought. Order with that date in mind.

How to read a bag on our menu

Every product carries the same three labels in the same order:

  1. Grade, for example “greenhouse”.
  2. THCA %, from the lab report for that lot.
  3. Total THC, worked out as delta-9 THC plus 0.877 × THCA.

If a lot has no lab values on file, it is left off the menu until it does. We never copy a number from another lot or estimate one. Our lab values page explains how to match a lot code to its report.

Our menu today is high-THCA hemp flower, not CBD flower. Smoked, it gets you high and shows up on THC drug tests.

Questions

Does CBD flower contain THCA?
Yes, a little. Plants bred for CBD still make some THCA alongside CBDA. On a CBD flower COA, total THC (delta-9 THC plus 0.877 times THCA) should be 0.3% or less.
Is the flower on this site CBD flower with THC?
No. It is high-THCA hemp flower, not CBD flower with a little THC. Its total THC is many times the 0.3% line, it gets you high when smoked and it shows up on THC drug tests.
Why does a shop called CBD Flower Co. sell THCA flower?
The name is for the CBD and CBG flower shop we plan to run after Dec. 11, 2026. Until then we sell hemp THCA flower and name it that way on every product, cart line and receipt.
How do I see how strong a flower on the menu is?
Each product shows its THCA % and total THC from the lab report for its lot. A flower without those values is not on the menu.
